Preparing for Your Overnight Stay at Sharp Memorial Hospital

We appreciate your understanding as we continue to focus on the health and safety of our patients, staff, caregivers and community.
When you're a patient at Sharp Memorial, our goal is to provide you a peaceful healing environment where you feel nurtured and supported.
Enjoy the privacy of your own room.
To provide you with a quiet and restful place for healing, all patient rooms at Sharp Memorial are private. And for added privacy and comfort, each room includes a bathroom for your exclusive use.
Invite a loved one to stay with you.
Any adult family member or friend who does not require supervision or physical assistance may spend the night with you in the hospital. Only one guest at a time may stay overnight.
A sleeper sofa is available in your room for a guest spending the night. All sofas come with sheets, a blanket, a pillow and a pillowcase. A hand towel and face cloth will also be available. One of our staff members will show your guest how the bed works and where the linens are located.
Children may not stay overnight, but are welcome to visit. We ask that young children have a watchful adult present at all times. You may find it helpful to prepare your child in advance for what they might see during their visit. You can always ask your nurse to assist you in explaining various equipment and procedures.
Let visitors help you heal.
Often when you are hospitalized, those who care about you want to help but don't know how. By staying with you in the hospital, your loved one can become your partner in care — be present to assist you, communicate with your health care team and become familiar with your treatments — improving your overall hospital experience. We believe the personal, loving touch a partner in care can bring is an integral component of your healing process.
Bring the comforts of home.
We want you to feel as comfortable as possible. Bringing in a few personal items from home can make your hospital stay more pleasant. We do provide pajama bottoms and gowns while you are in our care, but feel free to bring your own pajamas for extra comfort.
Each floor of Sharp Memorial includes a family lounge where you and your guests can go to relax and find coffee and tea - as well as a computer that you are welcome to use. Free wireless Internet is available throughout the hospital, and you can also access the Internet from the television in your hospital room.
For the convenience of you and your guests, we have several vending machines, two gift shops, a flower shop, a cafeteria and a coffee cart available to you throughout your stay.
We'll help find the doctor who's right for you.
