Sharp Rees-Stealy Urgent Care
We make it easy to safely get the care you need — through virtual visits and in-person care.
Select an option to get started.
Virtual urgent care is available on Monday through Sunday from 8 am to 8 pm. To join a virtual urgent care visit, you'll need a video-enabled computer or mobile device. Some health insurance plans charge a copay and share of cost for virtual visits, similar to in-person visits. Check with your health plan for more information.
Contact your doctor before visiting urgent care if you have any COVID-19 symptoms.
You don't have to be a Sharp Rees-Stealy patient to visit one of our five urgent care centers. We accept most insurance plans and payment methods, including Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and self-pay. You can also reach us after hours.
When to visit urgent care and what conditions we treat
For medical emergencies, call 911 immediately.
Common conditions treated in urgent care include:
- Cold, cough and sore throat
- Vomiting and diarrhea
- Cuts and wounds
- Urinary and sexually transmitted diseases
- Sprains and strains
- Minor bone dislocations and fractures (splinting only, with referrals to an orthopedic or musculoskeletal specialist when indicated)
Contact your primary care doctor for routine care or if you're unsure whether you require urgent care.
Conditions not treated at urgent care
As a member of the Safe Prescribing Urgent Care and ER Alliance of San Diego County, Sharp Rees-Stealy urgent care centers do not treat conditions such as substance abuse disorders or chronic pain. In addition, refills on psychiatric or narcotic pain medications or other controlled substances are not provided at our facilities.
Find out if you're covered
Sharp Rees-Stealy accepts most health insurance, fee-for-service, indemnity and workers' compensation plans. Call your insurance provider to see if your plan covers urgent care services at Sharp Rees-Stealy and to determine if a referral is required.
If you're a member of Sharp Rees-Stealy or see a Sharp Rees-Stealy primary care doctor under a contracted HMO plan, services provided outside of Sharp Rees-Stealy are not covered unless approved in advance. Unless your health plan offers other options, only Sharp Rees-Stealy Urgent Care Centers are in your network.
COVID-19 testing
If you are experiencing mild COVID-19 symptoms or are concerned you were exposed to someone with coronavirus, contact your primary care team, who will recommend the best next step for you. The fastest way to communicate with your Sharp Rees-Stealy doctor’s office is through FollowMyHealth.
Patients experiencing mild COVID-19 symptoms can also schedule a virtual urgent care visit. Please do not visit a Sharp Rees-Stealy urgent care location for a COVID-19 test without first speaking with your primary care team.
For children with symptoms, please contact your Sharp Rees-Stealy physician. If your child has been exposed but is not experiencing symptoms, follow their school district’s directions regarding testing.
Call 911 if you think you are experiencing a medical emergency.
We'll help find the doctor who's right for you.
