This online educational forum will teach you about lymphedema, a condition where swelling occurs because of damage or blockage in the lymphatic system.
At this free class, you will be able to:
- Develop an understanding of lymphedema
- Identify risk factors that may cause lymphedema
- Understand ways to prevent or reduce the risk of lymphedema
- Recognize early signs and symptoms
- Learn why movement or function in arms and legs may be impacted
- Discover treatment options
These monthly virtual sessions are designed for high-risk patients who are in need of immediate information prior to a procedure or before starting treatment. They can also be helpful for anyone looking for information at any stage of the recovery process.

Special Instructions
The instructor will cover all pertinent information in one session, however, you may choose to attend more than one date if needed.
Presenter Information
Carol Long, OTR/L, CLT-LANA, is an occupational therapist and certified lymphedema therapist with Sharp HealthCare.
Arrival
This class will be held online via Zoom. You will need a device with both audio and video capabilities, such as a computer, tablet or smartphone. If you do not have access to any of theses devices, you can call into the session via phone.
Please make sure to provide an email address. You will be sent login instructions in a separate email from your registration confirmation. If you do not receive the login instructions, please call us at 1-800-82-SHARP (1-800-827-4277), Monday through Friday, from 7 am to 7 pm.
Using the login instructions, you will be asked to download the Zoom application and then follow the prompts to join the meeting. You may be in a virtual meeting room until the facilitator joins the session. The meeting will allow five minutes for everyone to arrive and then the class will run for approximately 40 minutes.
