Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation
Pediatric Rehab Services
Sharp Rees-Stealy's Pediatric Rehabilitation offers a variety of services to help children reach their maximum potential. Our services include speech and language therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy and audiology. All patient goals are customized with the family in mind and guided by experienced professionals to assure the safety, achievement and advancement of each child.
We're committed to providing the greatest benefit — if your child requires multiple therapies, they may be offered in conjunction with one another in individual or group settings.
Alert program for self-regulation.
This program teaches parents and children sensory motor strategies for self-regulation. This program helps children learn to monitor and change their level of alertness and adapt appropriately to a given situation. Five strategies are explored with both the parent and child with suggested home activities.
High-risk neonatal follow-up.
This is an assessment of infants at risk for developmental delays based on diagnosis or complications during prenatal or neonatal life. An evaluation occurs at the adjusted age of 4 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months and 18 months. Assessments are completed by an occupational therapist and a physical therapist.
Intensive therapy.
This program provides intensive sensory integration therapy to small groups of children with similar sensory processing issues, ages and development. Intensive therapy sessions are two hours long for five consecutive days. These are usually offered during the summer months and school breaks.
Social skills group.
This program provides specific activities to practice and learn appropriate social interactions and problem solving skills in a small group setting with similar ages and development.
Torticollis stretching class.
A weekly class for all children diagnosed with torticollis. Parents will be guided through a variety of home exercises that focus on stretching and strengthening techniques. Children will be allowed to progress at their own pace.
