Cognitive behavioral therapy program
This group-based outpatient mood program treats a full spectrum of depression and anxiety disorders — including major depression, bipolar disorder, panic and anxiety disorders, trauma, obsessive-compulsive disorder and personality disorders, such as borderline personality disorder.
At Sharp Grossmont, our multidisciplinary team of therapists, psychiatrists and nurses provides a safe, supportive environment for adults struggling with a mood disorder. Using a three-pronged approach — medication management, a supportive group therapy process and mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy — we'll help empower you to achieve your wellness goals.
While in this program, you will develop an understanding of the interplay among thoughts, emotions, physical sensations and behaviors. And the coping skills we teach will help you to effectively manage thoughts, feelings and behaviors in a new way.

Dual recovery program
Our Dual Recovery Outpatient Program is designed to help you navigate the unique challenge of overcoming mental health conditions along with alcohol and drug dependency.
At Sharp Grossmont, our multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, therapists and nurses works closely with you to develop an individualized treatment plan in a safe, supportive environment.
This program uses a three-pronged approach consisting of medication management, a positive and compassionate group therapy process and skill development for symptom management and relapse prevention.
Here, you will actively participate in your own recovery and learn how psychiatric symptoms and relapse triggers are related, as well as how to self-monitor and reduce your symptoms. Our expert team of caregivers will guide you through each step of treatment and will assist you in creating a realistic, long-term plan for your health and well-being.

Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) program
If you suffer from severe and persistent mental health issues, particularly paralyzing depression, and haven't responded to medications or cannot tolerate their side effects, you may benefit from the reliable symptom relief that electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) can provide. An exceptionally effective medical treatment, ECT helps 90% of participating patients.
To undergo ECT, you are given muscle relaxants and oxygen and gently put to sleep under general anesthesia. The treatment itself involves brief electrical stimulation to the scalp. Following treatment, you will most likely need to take antidepressant medications for a period of time in order to maintain the positive effects of ECT.
At Sharp Grossmont, ECT is performed by an experienced treatment team of doctors, nurses and nursing assistants. Together, we'll work to restore your optimal mental health.
