I think I may have a chemical dependency problem. Do you have a program that can help?
We honor your courage in taking the first step toward recovery. Sharp Mesa Vista's Chemical Dependency Treatment Program offers innovative programs — for children, teens, adults and seniors — that have proven track records of successful outcomes. We will tailor a customized treatment plan for your specific needs to help you recover from your addiction.
How can I get help for my child who is having serious behavior problems in school?
Your first step is to speak with a Sharp Mesa Vista intake specialist, by calling 858-836-8434, to discuss your child's symptoms and behaviors. After your child's behavioral issues are determined, our intake specialist will refer you to the appropriate child or adolescent treatment program. If your child is abusing drugs or alcohol, we can also refer you to Changes, a comprehensive treatment program to help adolescents and their families deal with the problems related to developing and maintaining a sober and drug-free lifestyle.
My loved one is bipolar but refusing to get help. What can I do?
We understand your concern and are here to help. Our cognitive treatment program is designed to treat bipolar adults suffering from symptoms such as depression and anxiety. Our program offers a supportive therapeutic setting for patients experiencing significant disruption in daily living and takes a group-oriented, cognitive-behavioral approach to care. Our outpatient programs are voluntary, but one of our intake specialists will work with you and your loved one to assess the need for either outpatient or inpatient psychiatric care. To speak with an intake specialist, please call 858-836-8434.
My loved one has schizophrenia and is not taking the prescribed medication. Do you have any programs that can help?
Sharp Mesa Vista specializes in the treatment of schizophrenia and we offer both inpatient and outpatient programs depending on the level of treatment needed. Each program starts with a complete psychiatric assessment, followed by prescribing appropriate medications and scheduling group psychotherapy. Our programs are designed to help our patients recover from their unique challenges so they can get back to living balanced, productive lives.
I can no longer manage my elderly parent. Do you have programs that deal with special behavioral needs of the elderly?
Firstly, it's important to speak with your parent's primary care physician about the concerns you are struggling with. Once the level of behavioral issues has been determined, your parent's doctor can refer you to Sharp Mesa Vista's Older Adult Treatment Program. Our specialized program offers a full range of senior behavioral health services from inpatient partial hospitalization to intensive outpatient services. All services are provided under a psychiatrist's direction who works in collaboration with your parent's primary care physician.
How do I begin the intake process at Sharp Mesa Vista?
To begin the intake process, please call 858-836-8434. Our intake hotline is open 24 hours a day and is staffed by experienced mental health professionals.
What should I bring with me for my stay?
We suggest that you bring two to three days' worth of comfortable clothes. We ask that you leave your cell phone and valuables at home. You may bring your own toiletries, but we provide them if you need them.
When can my friends and family visit during my stay?
Learn about patient visitation at Sharp Mesa Vista. Check with your specific unit about routine visiting hours — special arrangements can be made by your physician to best meet your visiting needs. Patients may also choose a care partner, such as a family member, friend or a loved one for guidance and support during their recovery.
Is health insurance accepted at Sharp Mesa Vista?
At Sharp Mesa Vista, we accept most major health insurance plans. Most of our services are either covered in full or in part by insurance. One of our intake professionals will work with your insurance company to ensure that you receive the maximum coverage allowed by your plan.
