Sharp Memorial Outpatient Pavilion
Heart Attack and Stroke Program at Sharp Memorial Outpatient Pavilion
Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, yet it often goes undetected until something serious occurs. The good news is that it's a highly preventable disease and one of the most treatable, especially when caught early.
The Sharp Memorial Outpatient Pavilion offers a comprehensive evaluation that gives you an accurate report of your heart attack and stroke risk in 90 minutes or less.
Our evaluation features SphygmoCor® XCEL technology, which noninvasively measures the blood pressure at your heart. We use the powerful CardioHealth ultrasound that allows our experienced practitioners to scan patients for hidden plaque build-up and increased thickness in the artery wall — both common signs of cardiovascular disease.
Heart attack and stroke screening.
Our heart attack and stroke program is focused on the prevention and early detection of cardiovascular disease. We offer a heart attack and stroke screening to patients, which includes:
- 10-year heart attack risk
- Advanced blood pressure measurement
- Ankle-brachial index ultrasound, which detects peripheral arterial disease
- Blood glucose test
- Body fat measurement
- Body mass index (BMI) and hip/waist ratio
- Cardiac C-Reactive Protein blood test
- CardioHealth carotid ultrasound
- Heart health consultation
- Homocysteine blood test
- Lipid cholesterol panel
- Metabolic syndrome screening
- Review of family history
Following your screening, your results will be summarized by an experienced clinician, who will help you identify steps for achieving and maintaining your best health.
