Frequently Asked Questions About True Health Appraisals
Learn more about True Health Appraisals.
Who should get a True Health Appraisal?
The health screening is designed for anyone who wants the best in early disease detection and prevention. Whether you're a busy executive, a busy parent or both, our comprehensive appraisal is delivered with care and compassion, yet designed with streamlined efficiency.
How long does the True Health Appraisal take?
Most physicals only take one day, depending on the customized itinerary for your specific and unique requirements.
How soon will I get my test results?
You will meet at the end of the day with our medical director to discuss your screening results and develop a plan that will help you improve and maintain good health and well being. A complete test result portfolio will be mailed to you within two to three weeks of your executive physical and, if requested, a letter outlining these results can be sent to your personal physician.
Why should I choose the Sharp Memorial Outpatient Pavilion for this screening?
Our goal is to provide the most caring, compassionate, comprehensive and high-tech executive physical available. From reviewing your medical history, to providing accurate and meaningful recommendations, we are confident that you will receive the care, diagnostics and follow through needed to achieve your optimal health and well being.
Do I need a referral from my doctor?
No, we do not require a referral from your personal physician. If you like, we will send a letter outlining the results of your health appraisal to your personal physician.
How does this executive physical compare to having a body scan?
We exclusively offer the only scans with recognized value for screening purposes - CT scans for coronary artery scoring, low dose lung screening and bone densitometry, along with ultrasound screenings for plaque in the carotid arteries and abdominal aorta aneurysm. These scans can detect problems at their earliest onset and we may recommend them for you based on your family and medical history, or they can be included at your request.
What is the cost of the True Health Appraisal?
Charges are on a fee-for-service basis. The fee for your appraisal will be quoted after a thorough review of your unique requirements based on your age, gender, medical and family history and risk factors. Annual reevaluation exams normally cost about 50 percent less. The appraisal can range in cost from $1,000 to $2,000.
Will my insurance cover the screening?
This comprehensive program is self-pay. Some insurance providers may cover your screening depending on your insurance coverage carrier and plan type. If you have questions, contact your insurance carrier to verify the preventive health benefits in your insurance plan. If you would like, we can give you the documentation to submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement.
