Recreation therapists are available to talk with individuals with physical limitations and provide leisure education and community referrals to other local adaptive programs. Sharp recreation therapists also work closely with many community agencies that serve persons with disabilities to provide a community network of programs and services for San Diegans with physical limitations. Adaptive golf clinic
Sharp Rehabilitation Center Recreation Therapy presents a golf clinic for individuals with physical challenges. The current participants in the clinic have a range of disabilities including stroke, brain injury and other limitations.

Gentle fitness
Gentle fitness is a conditioning program designed to help individuals with chronic or disabling conditions achieve healthier lifestyles in a supportive group environment. This is a moderate exercise program consisting of basic stretching and strengthening for the major muscle groups of the body. Participants are introduced to these exercises mainly in the seated position. Classes led by a recreation therapist virtually on ZOOM.

Young Enthusiastic Stroke Survivors "YESS" Support Group
Young Enthusiastic Stroke Survivors support group (YESS) is a free support group for survivors and their families. A recognized member of the American Heart Association, YESS sponsors meetings and newsletters that focus on educating the community about stroke and highlighting the effects of stroke on young people and their families. YESS is not limited to stroke survivors. It also supports adults with head injuries, family members, professionals and educators. This group is virtual and meets on ZOOM. Learn more.
